dixie-jazz-bandThe very first Jazz record was recorded by the Original Dixieland Jazz Band in 1917. The band, consisting of all-white musicians from New Orleans, is credited with spreading this new sound throughout the country with their hit “Livery Stable Blues.” Some say it was the first million-seller. Released by Victor records, a copy can get you $700.00 today.
