On This Day August 25th in Rock & Roll History

On this day August 25, 1979 the song at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 takes lead singer Doug Fieger only 15 minutes to write. It becomes the number one record of the year thanks to the inspiration of Doug’s 17 year old girlfriend, Sharona Alperin. The Knack’s 45 of “My Sharona” with picture sleeve is worth no more than $15.00 but the boys sure like it.
