December 29, 2017 Records of the Day

Don Gardner had been recording since 1947 with little success. However, in the early 1960’s he joined forces with Dee Dee Ford. In 1962 they recorded a song called “I Need Your Lovin’,” which they had featured in their club act, and took it top-20 on the Billboard Hot 100. The 45, released on Fire Records is worth up to $15.00 but the album is up to $125.00. Both versions are shown here.
