Count Basie was best known for songs like “One O’clock Jump” and “April in Paris.” Basie was the leader of his band for almost fifty years. During that time he played at one of President Kennedy’s Inaugural Balls as well as featuring some of the great vocalists of the day like Joe Williams, Billie Holiday, Billy Eckstein, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra. In 1955 RCA released the “Count Basie” album. What adds to the value is the cover art by Andy Warhol. An original copy can get you $500.00 today.
