November 27, 2014 Record of the Day

Eddie Cochran is included among the early Rock and Roll giants who died young and tragically. Only 21-years old when his life ended in a car accident, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, thirty years after he first hit the charts with the single “Sittin’ in the Balcony.” Released on Liberty records, the 45 is worth up to $50.00 while the 78 rpm version can sell for $400.00 today. Both versions are shown here. Find the value for every record by Eddie Cochran and those by over 65,000 other recording artists with the Mighty John Record Appraisal Guide on CD, listing the values for over a million records. It’s available in the left hand column.
