The Mello-Kings was one of the blackest-sounding white groups of the Doo-Wop era. Their best known hit is “Tonite Tonite.” An original copy on Herald Records can now sell for $50.00. This is an extremely rare case where a record sold over two million copies without making the Billboard Top 40. Their only EP, “The Fabulous Mello-Kings,” released on Herald Records in 1960, is worth up to $500.00 today.
