Most copies, with a regular version of “From a Buick 6” are worth up to $50.00. However, versions of the album with a harmonica riff at the beginning of “From a Buick 6” can sell for $350.00 today.

“Meet the Temptations” was the debut album for one of Motown’s best-known super groups. Although David Ruffin would become the leader, he sings lead only on the hit, “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” featured on the album. All other tracks feature Elbridge “Al” Bryant as lead singer. Bryant was fired shortly before the release of the album and David Ruffin became the star. Released in 1964, a copy is worth up to $125.00 today.

“American IV: The Man Comes Around” is the sixty-seventh album from Johnny Cash and the last prior to his death. Released by American Recordings and Universal Records in 2002, it is the fourth in Cash’s “American” series, and is considered some of his finest work towards the end of his life. The album was also listed in the book, “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.” The 2-disc set is worth up to $200.00 today.

“What’d I Say” is rock and roll and soul classic created live after a show with a little time left. The song with the response from the backup singers was so electrifying that Ray decided immediately that he had to record it. With so many hits, many say it is still his “signature” song. Released in 1959 on Atlantic records, the 45 is worth up to $40.00. The 78-rpm version up to $300.00 and the album up to $40.00 on a red record label and up to $200.00 on a black record label.

The first record by the Rolling Stones, released in the U.S, was called, “Stoned.” Radio stations balked at the idea of playing it because of its implied drug reference. London Records then tried to plug the flip side, “I Wanna Be Your Man,” but to no avail. Both sides are pictured here. A original copy is worth up to $12,000.00.

Dion had 39 top-40 hits in the early rock and roll era as a solo artist and as lead singer with the Belmonts. Among his many hits are “A Teenager in Love,” “Ruby Baby, “The Wanderer” and his signature hit, “Runaround Sue.” The “Runaround Sue” single is not a big collectible at up to $20.00. The album, not much more than $25.00 on black vinyl. However, copies on green vinyl, as seen here can make the album worth up to $750.00.

The Fifth Dimension tore up the charts in the mid to late 60s with classics like “Up Up and Away (in My Beautiful Balloon),” “Stoned Soul Picnic, “Wedding Bell Blues,” and the Grammy award winner, “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In.” A black vinyl copy is worth no more than $20.00 but a gold vinyl version, as seen here can, sell for $200.00 today.

AC/DC first breathed rock and roll in to an unsuspecting world in 1973. Banded together by brothers, Angus and Malcome Young in Sydney, Australia, their music has been called hard rock and heavy metal, but they simply call it rock and roll. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2002, Epic Records released a boxset of 15 discs known as “The AC/DC LP Collection.” The set is worth up to $500.00 today.

In 1964, Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller who wrote so many classics like “Jailhouse Rock” for Elvis and “Yakety Yak” for the Coasters, wrote one for a group known as the Ad Libs. That song was “The Boy From New York City,” on the Blue Cat record label, which went top-10 on the Billboard 100. It worth up to $30.00 today. A year later A.G.P. Records release the Ad Libs single, “New York in the Dark.” A copy is worth up to $500.00 today.

Dewey Bunnel of the folk-rock band, America, said that, “A horse with no name” was “a metaphor for a vehicle to get away from life’s confusion into a quiet, peaceful place.” All I know is that it was a # 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972. The 45 isn’t valued more than $10.00. The album, “America,” is up to $25.00 UNLESS you have a copy where “A Horse with No Name” is not included. Then the value can jump to $75.00.
