All Shook Up” by Elvis Presley shot up the Billboard charts in March of 1957. It stayed at number 1 for eight weeks in a row. It was also Elvis’ first number 1 song on the British charts. With sales of two million copies, Billboard listed it as the number 1 song for all of 1957. The 45, with picture sleeve, released by RCA, is worth up to $150.00 today.

The Green Hornet first came to the TV screen in 1966 with Van Williams as the Green Hornet and playboy publishing mogul, Britt Reid. His side-kick, Kato, was played by the legendary Bruce Lee. Also starring was Black Beauty, their weapons-loaded car. Only twenty six episodes were filmed. “Louie Louie” is one of the greatest Rock N Roll party records of all time. It’s one of those classics that every generation seems to know. Although Paul Revere and the Raider’s version came out before the Kingsmen’s, it’s the Kingsmen’s version that will live forever in Rock N Roll history. “Stormy Weather” by the Five Sharps is considered to be the most collectible Doo-wop record. Released on Jubilee Records in 1952, the record received some airplay but was soon relegated to the dust bins of record stores. But find one in the dust bins or anywhere else and you have found a record worth up to $20,000.00 today. Only 78’s, as shown here, are originals. All known 45’s are counterfeits.

Van Morrison’s first band was Them from Belfast. At one time the band included Jimmy Paige on guitar. They were more successful in Britain than in the U.S. Their biggest hit in the states was in 1965 with “Here Comes the Night.” That 45 on Parrot Records can now sell for $40.00. The Them album, released with “Gloria” highlighted on the cover is worth up to $75.00. However, versions, as shown here, with “Here Comes the Night” on the cover are worth up to $250.00 today.

Jerry Lee Lewis has had one of the most successful and colorful careers in the history of both Rock N Roll and Country. A true legend, he is a Rock N Roll Icon and Country music superstar. Known as “the killer,” he first tasted success with the Rock N Roll classic “Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On.” On Sun Records on a 78 that single can now sell for $150.00. The 1957 EP ,“The Great Ball of Fire,” issued on Sun Records, is worth up to $250.00 today.

In 1963 Columbia Records released the album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan.” It can be one of the most valuable records of all time. Most original copies are worth up to $75.00. However, if you have an original with the song “Talkin’ John Birch Society Blues” on the record, then the value is up to $15,000.00. Some copies may list the song as on the album, but you’ll have to play it to see if it is.

Bill Haley and His Comets can justifiably be considered as the band that brought Rock N Roll to the world with hits like “Don’t Knock the Rock” and “Shake, Rattle and Roll.” Haley became world famous in 1955 with the anthem, “Rock Around the Clock.” But five years earlier he was recording as Johnny Clifton. His single, “Stand Up and Be Counted,” released on Center Records, is worth up to $1,500.00 today.
