March 27, 2026 Records of the Day

EP’s can be more collectible than 45’s, 78’s, or albums. An EP (extended play) is usually a 7- inch album, mostly with two songs on each side of the record. In 1956, Carl Perkins wrote and recorded a true Rock N Roll classic with “Blue Suede Shoes.” A copy on a 45 or 78, released on Sun Records, is worth up to $75.00. However, the EP, as shown here, is worth up to $600.00.
