July 22, 2021 Records of the Day

In 1966 the Supremes hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 8th time with “You Keep Me Hangin’ On.” A year later the Vanilla Fudge gave the song a psychedelic sound and brought their version to #6. The song was also covered by other recording artists as diverse as Rod Stewart and Reba McEntire. The single by the Vanilla Fudge, released by ATCO Records, is worth no more than $10.00 but the Supremes’ 45, issued by Motown, can sell for $100.00 with its picture sleeve.
