Darlene Love first hit it big as lead singer of the Crystals in 1962 with the Billboard Hot 100 smash, “He’s a Rebel.” She can also be heard singing back-up vocals on many hits such as the “Monster Mash” by Bobby Boris Pickett and “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra. Her first solo hit came in 1963 with “(Today I Met) The Boy I’m Gonna Marry.” Released on Philles Records, a copy with “Playing for Keeps” on the flip side is worth up to $50.00. However, copies with “My Heart Beats a Little Bit Faster” on the flip side can get you $100.00 today.
