Ed Bruce began his career as a Rockabilly artist for Sun Records. His biggest success happened in 1970 when Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson recorded his composition, “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys.” Ed Bruce also found fame playing James Garner’s saloon partner and sheriff in “Bret Maverick” from 1981-1982. His 1957 single, “Rock Boppin Baby,” on Sun Records is worth up to $300.00. His 1964 single of “I’m Gonna Have a Party” on Wand Records can sell for $1,000.00 today.
