April 29, 2023 Record of the Day

Long before “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” there was “Destination Moon,” a movie from 1950 and one of the earliest to deal with the problems of space travel. Producer George Pal even included an appearance by cartoon favorite Woody Woodpecker to explain within the film the things that could go wrong in space. “Destination Moon” won an academy award in the visual effects category. The movie soundtrack, released on Columbia Records, can get you $200.00 today. “Destination Moon” is just one of the 10,000 soundtracks listed on our Soundtracks flash drive in Microsoft Word, covering movies, TV shows, and Broadway shows. It’s available in the left hand column.
