July 21, 2023 Record of the Day

The 1969 debut album for MC5 was “Kick out the Jams.”  The band was together for no more than three years but the impression they left had a deep affect on the hard rock groups that followed. True to their Detroit roots, the band took the name MC5, which stands for Motor City Five. Their “Kick out the Jams” album was released by Electra Records. There was both a censored and uncensored version. The “clean” copy is no more than $30 but the version with the X-rated title track can get you $600.00 today.
