August 24, 2023 Record of the Day

In the late 60’s, Baby Huey and the Babysitters owned the local club scene in Chicago. Baby Huey, topping the scales at 400 lbs, was electric with his Soul music. Backed by the Babysitters, his 10 piece band, Huey sang his heart out. Unfortunately, for all of us, that heart stopped when Huey was just 26-years-old. In 1965, U.S.A. Records released “Messin’ with the Kid” by Baby Huey and the Babysitters. A copy of the 45 is worth up to $250.00 today. Find a copy on Breakthrough Records and the value jumps up to $1,500.00.
