July 13, 2021 Record of the Day

Eddie Cochran is included among the early Rock and Roll giants who died young and tragically. Only 21-years-old when his life ended in a car accident, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, thirty years after he first hit the charts with the single “Sittin’ in the Balcony.” Released on Liberty Records, the 45 is worth up to $50.00 while the 78 rpm version can sell for $400.00 today. Both versions are shown here.
