On February 2, 1979, while celebrating his freedom after a 7-week jail sentence for assault, Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols died of a drug overdose after injecting heroin that his dear ol’ mum had reportedly given him. Ah, ‘tis nothin’ like a mother’s love. In 1979, Warner Brothers released the single “Pretty Vacant” by the Sex Pistols. A copy of the 45 showing a tree-lined road on the label as seen here is worth up to $600.00 today.
