September 20, 2021 Records of the Day

At the beginning of the British Invasion, the Beatles had several American stars opening for them on their U.S. appearances such as the Marvelettes, the Ronettes and Mary Wells. But in March of 1963 they were the opening act in London for U.S. recording star, Chris Montez. His big hit of the day was “Let’s Dance.” The 45 on Monogram Records is worth no more than $15.00 but the “Let’s Dance” album can get you $250.00 today.
