Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles are credited with having their first hit in 1964 with “I Sold My Heart to the Junkman.” Released on Peak Records the 45, with picture sleeve, can sell for $75.00. Their biggest hit came after they changed their name to LaBelle. Their song “Lady Marmalade” has become a classic. Patti soon went solo with more hits like “On My Own” and “New Attitude.” The album “Sweethearts of The Apollo” by Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles, released on Newtown Records in 1963, is worth up to $300.00 today.
